Healthcare shouldn't be confusing.

We've gathered answers to the questions we hear most often about memberships, Direct Primary Care, and what you can expect as a Wyo Roots Health patient. If you still have questions, just reach out - we would love to help!

  • Unlimited primary care visits, direct access to your provider through secure messaging or calling, longer appointment times, same or next-day availability most of the time, preventive care, chronic disease management, wellness, and advanced care planning and care coordination. 

    Every member will get annual wellness labs at no cost, as well as any employment or sports physicals. DOT physicals will be available soon! 

    After-hours urgent care on a case-by-case basis – you will only have to pay a minimal cost for supplies rather than what you would pay at an Urgent Care or ER.  Examples are lacerations, sprains, IV fluids, minor fractures, etc.

    Access to a significantly discounted in-house pharmacy, which will carry the most commonly used medications.  Referrals for specialty care and help navigating the health care system. 

  • Wyo Roots Health will care for and welcome any patient, regardless of their insurance status. 

    Wyo Roots Health is a monthly membership independent of insurance. We do not bill your monthly membership fee to insurance. However, you may use your Health Savings Account (HSA) dollars to pay your monthly membership. 

    Keeping insurance out of our healthcare model allows us to keep pricing simple, visits longer, and care focused on you instead of insurance rules, coding, and paperwork.

    If you would like to use your insurance for our recommended lab work or imaging, you may do so.  We can bill your insurance for the labs here at Wyo Roots. We also offer transparent prices for labs in our clinic if you would like to compare cost.

  • Your membership does not include outside services such as hospital care, emergency room visits, specialist visits, imaging, major surgery, or medications that need to be filled at a pharmacy that we do not carry in-house.

    Labs, imaging, and outside testing may have separate costs, but we work to help you access transparent and affordable options whenever possible.

  • Yes – we recommend medical insurance for major medical needs, emergencies, hospital care, specialist visits, imaging and some medications. 

    Direct Primary Care does not replace insurance.  It replaces the rushed, insurance-driven primary care experience.

  • Memberships are designed to be simple and transparent. Not every person is a good fit for DPC. 

    We ask that you give us 30 days notice to cancel your membership. You can call the clinic or message us through your portal. 

  • Yes, When appropriate, your provider can come to you. Due to the time and expense of travel there will be a small charge for this add-on.  This will be discussed with you prior to a home visit and fee will be mutually agreed upon based on time, distance and care needed.

  • Yes.  As of January 2026, you can use your pre-tax HSA dollars to pay for your DPC membership fees.  To remain eligible to contribute to you HSA, your DPC membership fees are capped at $150 per month for individuals and $300 per month for families.

  • A FNP-C is a board certified family nurse practitioner.  In the state of Wyoming they hold an independent license and can practice independently.

  • This is another benefit of DPC – if you need appointments outside of “usual” business hours there will be options for early mornings, late evenings or weekends – just let us know what you need and we will work with you!

  • We aim to offer same-day or next-day access whenever possible, especially for urgent primary care concerns.

    Because our patient panel is intentionally smaller, we are able to offer more availability and more direct communication than traditional clinics.

  • We have a full lab in our clinic. We have blood glucose testing, strep testing and COVID and influenza testing and urinalysis at our location. 

    We have partnered with LabCorp, and you will receive wellness labs each year with your membership – this includes a complete blood count (CBC), complete metabolic panel (CMP), lipid panel, and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) level.  Additional labs and imaging are available with transparent pricing. You can opt to pay for these or use any insurance if you would like.   

  • Yes. Wyo Roots Health provides ongoing care for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid concerns, asthma, anxiety, depression, and other common primary care needs.

    We will soon have affordable add-on packages for evidence-based menopause care and weight management.

    Nina is nationally certified in oncology and can help with navigating treatment, recovery and ongoing survivorship needs.

  • Yes. Wyo Roots Health is built for individuals and families.

    Family membership options allow spouses, children, and dependents to receive the same kind of direct, relationship-based care.

  • Yes. When appropriate, we offer virtual visits, phone communication, text, and email access so care can fit more naturally into your life.

    Some concerns still need an in-person visit, but telehealth can make follow-up care and simple questions much easier.

  • While both models tend to be smaller practices with personalized care, DPC is designed to be more affordable and transparent. Concierge medicine often costs $2000-$5000 per year and often still has the hassle and restrictions of insurance billing.

  • Wyo Roots health is excellent for the Medicare patient who values having unlimited access to a primary provider that develops a relationship with them and becomes very familiar with their needs. Again, view our practice as a membership that just gains you access to consistent, compassionate, available care. 

    Simply pay the monthly membership for your unlimited access to all of the benefits noted throughout this website.  Your Medicare coverage remains in place for everything else: specialist care, testing outside our office or hospitalizations. We can still refer, write prescriptions and help you navigate the health care system. There will not be any changes to your current coverage by becoming a member at Wyo Roots Health.

    Due to government regulations however, there is a process that the Wyo Roots Health provider will need to go through, so we will not be able to see Medicare patients until October 1, 2026 but we are happy to get you on the waiting list.  

  • You may have seen these initials after Nina’s name. This stands for Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner. Nina has spent over half of her career caring for Oncology (cancer) patients and has obtained extensive training in this specialty as well as this nationally recognized certification.
